Kwanzaa In July Celebrated At Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum
Kwanzaa in July will be celebrated at Slave Haven Underground Railroad Museum 826 No. Second St. on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm.  Slave Haven Museum is continuing the observance of its 160th Anniversary with culturally enriched activities.  Sponsored by Kwanzaa, Inc., this event will include Kwanzaa Principles, African Music, Spoken Word, Games, Vendors and more.
A special feature at the event will be a speech given by Frederick Douglass in 1852 for an Independence Day Celebration.  Frederick Douglass’ speech addressed the question, “What to the Slave Is Your 4th of July?”
