Memphis Police Association Charitable Foundation To Host Police Memorial 5K Run/Walk
The Memphis Police Association Charitable Foundation (MPACF) will host the Annual Miles for Memphis 5k on September 9th, at 9 a.m. This run is held in memory of all police officers that have lost their lives in the line of duty. Civilians and Officers of various agencies will run alongside the widows, children and other family members of fallen officers to show support for the fallen and the families left behind. Miles for Memphis will support a difference cause each year to benefit the Memphis community.
The race takes places at Overton Park and features a 5k (3.1 mile) route that begins at the East Parkway Pavilion. The event is open to the public. Registration is $30, and individuals may register online by visiting MPACF website mpagivesback.org/miles4mem until race day.
“We’re excited for this year’s race,” said event organizer, Randie Smalley. “The race is a great opportunity for our community to come together to support families of officers who have sacrificed their lives to serve our great city.”
Participants may pick up their race packets at the Memphis Police Association office located at 638 Jefferson Ave., Fri., Sept. 8, 12-5 p.m.
Packets will also be available for pick up at the race site on September 9, 2017 from 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. For more information about the Miles for Memphis 5k, please visit http://www.mpagivesback.org or call Randie Smalley at 901.523.7075
