Sunday School Teachers Highlight Tennessee Regular BM&E State Convention Program

The Tennessee Regular Baptist Missionary and Educational State Convention presents its Extended Session on Sun., October 15, 2017, 6 p.m.

The theme is: “Believe We Can Become One That Leads To Success.” This year’s Extended Session focuses on Christian Education, where select Sunday School teachers throughout the region will be honored for their unending contribution to the Body of Christ.

The public is invited to join the celebration of praise and worship while at the same time saluting a few of the church’s outstanding members.

In addition to fellowshipping with a number of congregations in the State Convention, contributions are being to assist recent Hurricane victims, as well as help fund academic efforts at LeMoyne-Owen College.

The TRBME State Convention Extended Session will take place at: Boston Baptist Church, 4226 Jackson Ave., Memphis, Tenn. Dr. Ydell Ishmon, Sr. is host pastor. Dr. James Adams is TRBMESC President.

The Tennessee Regular Baptist Missionary And Educational State Convention includes church congregations in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas who join together in support of the common good for the community. Annually the organization hosts several events including Congress classes for youth and adults to promote Biblical enrichment. TRBMESC also has a Women’s Auxillary and Laymen’s Ministry to help thousands of people grow in the Christ-likeness while serving in the Church, and proclaiming around the globe that Jesus is Lord.

TRBMESC, guided by pastors, clergy and other church leaders, continues to grow, adding congregations and members to its platform on a regular basis. The State Convention is under the headship of Dr. James A. Adams, pastor of Hammond Grove in Arlington, Tenn. (50 years) and St. Stephen Baptist Church Memphis, Tenn. (43 years).

Dr. Adams is married to Earline Adams and they are the parents of Allen, Tonia, and Tena and the grandparents of Jeremy and JaAllen.  He is also the proud and doting grandfather of his only great grandchild Jaxson.

Pastor Adams currently serves as:

  • Moderator of the Friendship District Association
  • President of Tennessee Regular BM&E State Convention
  • Chairman of the Global Bible Conference
  • Past President of the National Baptist Convention USA Inc Moderator’s Department
  • Past President of the National Baptist Convention, USA Inc. Pastors’ and Ministers’ Division

Adams was recently presented the Pastoral Ministry Award for 50 plus years in pastoral ministry during the 2017 Annual Session of the National Baptist Convention and a recipient of the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Award of Excellence.  Also, a portion of a road in Memphis has been renamed Rev. Dr. James A. Adams Road.

Dr. Adams is a nationally known evangelist who is recognized as a National Baptist Convention USA Living Legend.  Most of all he is regarded as and wants it to be known that he is a “saved gospel preacher.”
